Shawn
Kerivan is a writer, teacher, and innkeeper in Stowe, Vermont. He
teaches writing and humanities classes at the Community College of
Vermont. He has published scores of short stories and nonfiction
articles, many of which appear in Creative Writing in the Real World. His first book, the short story collection Name the Boy, was published in 2007.
We are currently preparing Shawn’s latest book--described as a “reader for writers”--as a study on the craft of writing. Creative Writing in the Real World
is a look at all the practical applications writers face, including
fiction, nonfiction, novels, memoir, critical writing, blogging, and
more. It’s a text that can be used for the teaching of writing, or for
the pleasure of reading. It’s versatile, practical, original, and
creative.
